Unlike other, more generally-acting, prebiotics; Elixa Prebiotic has been formulated to achieve as much specificity as possible. Meaning: specifically suited to good bacteria at the expense of bad bacteria.
How this is done is not guess work. If you know which genes bacteria have, you know which enzymes they express and the degree to which they express them. Those enzymes are specific to certain linkages binding sugar molecules in chains. If you provide chains containing linkages that are broken down by the enzymes produced by good bacteria, those chains will feed the good bacteria. That is how Elixa Prebiotic was formulated: by selecting prebiotics with specific bonds/linkages that are easily broken down by beneficial bacteria compared to non-beneficial bacteria.
